In May 2026, Gori State University and the Head of the Jean Monnet Chair “EU Social Justice”, received an official letter of appreciation from the European Commission.
Since 2024, Gori State University has implemented the Jean Monnet Chair “EU Social Justice”, which integrates teaching and scientific research activities in the fields of EU law and social policy. The Chair’s academic and research agenda encompasses a wide range of significant and contemporary topics, including European Union citizenship, labour law, consumer protection, organisational behaviour and business management, leadership, civil service law, educational management, youth policy, and other issues of current relevance.
It should also be noted that Gori State University has already developed substantial experience in cooperation with the Jean Monnet Programme. Prior to the establishment of the Chair, the University successfully implemented the Jean Monnet Module “Explore the EU in Association Agreement.”
In recognition of the above, Gori State University received an official letter of appreciation from European Commission, together with a Jean Monnet honorary plaque from Brussels. This constitutes important international recognition of the University’s active engagement in Jean Monnet activities and of its successful implementation of projects within the framework of the Jean Monnet Programme.
