GSU hosted Regional Scientific Festival 2026, initiated and financially supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth. On September 17, a grand event took place at GSU. Mr. Givi Mikanadze visited GSU where among other guests, viewed various exhibitions, projects and multi-profile educational and scientific activities. Guests were able to participate in experiments and workshops (chemistry, pharmacy, first aid, suturing), they also reviewed the scope of modern technologies of virtual reality.

Special attention was paid to the simulated archaeological field, presented on the university premises, historical-ethnographic artifacts, calligraphy contest artworks, occupational students ‘photo exhibition of historical monuments, located in the occupied territories of Shida Kartli. CERN and STEM masterclasses took place to spark engagement among students in scientific work. Guests were introduced to Shota Rustaveli and Horizon Europe grants and priority fields. Mr. Giorgi Volski, Mr. Giorgi Sosiashvili, Mr. Zviad Gabisonia, Mr. Simon Guledani, Mr. Konstantine Buzaladze, Mr. Marlen Nadiradze, Mr. Giorgi Berdznishvili, Mrs. Natia Iluridze, teachers, invited guests and Gori citizens attended the event.
