Opening Ceremony of the Georgian Culture Research Centre at Gori State Teaching University
22 April,2014On April 22, 2014 an opening ceremony of the Georgian Culture Research Centre was held at Gori State Teaching University. The ceremony was attended by the eparchy, government and community representatives. The meeting was launched with the opening remarks, made by the rector of Gori State Teaching University Prof. Giorgi Sosiashvili, Metropolitan Andria (Gvazava) of Gori and Ateni Eparchy, Bishop Damiane of Kaspi and Samtavisi Eparchy, Gori Municipality Council Chairman Davit Razmadze, Gori Municipality Gamgebeli Papuna Koberidze, Vano Chkhikvadze (writer), Founder of “Gori Hall” Tamaz Makashvili and Professor Eldar Mamistvalashvili.
The speakers emphasized the necessity of fundamental research for Georgian culture and student involvement in this process. It is important that the research project is implemented by Gori State Teaching University.
