On June 16, 2010 Open Championship in Boxing was held at Gori University Boxing Ring. Participating in the competition were both University students and school pupils. Competitions among the students were held in an interesting way. In the category of 60kg of weight, high skill of boxing was shown by the brothers Bacho and Davit Kvaratskhelia; in the category of 65kg of weight, Zakro Murachashvili was distinguished; in the category of 75kg of weight, Lado Archvadze and Razhden Aniashvili were singled out; in the category of 90kg of weight, competing each other were Koba Sabanadze and Anzor Tandiashvili. Addressing the participants was Gori University Rector, Professor Zaza Tsotniashvili. He expressed satisfaction over the well-organized event and wished success to the sportsmen. The distinguished boxers were given prizes, and participants were given certificates. After the end of the competition in Boxing, a show performance in Karate was shown by Gori University students Giorgi Nadibaidze and Giorgi Baghashvili.
