On December 29, the psychological counseling center for students was opened at Gori State University.
The project "Establishment of Psychological Counseling Centers at Georgian HEIs for Students - E-PSY, N617980-EPP-1-2020-1-G-EPPK2-CBHE-SP" started in January 2021, which It is implemented under the coordination of Sukhumi State University within the framework of the Erasmus+ program Capacity Building in a Field of Higher Education.
Gori State University participates in this project as a member of the consortium. Consortium consists of: University of Economics in Bydgoszcz, Poland; Transylvania University of Brasov; Bologna company "Steps" (STePS); Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University; Iacob Gogebashvili Telavi State University; Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State Teaching University; Samtskhe-Javakheti State University; Akaki Tsereteli Kutaisi State University; Caucasus University; Tbilisi Mental Health Crisis Intervention Center (Tbilisi-KI) Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
The goal of the project is to create psychological counseling centers for students in Georgian higher education institutions, support their work and train relevant specialists.
Within the project, students with academic, emotional and psychological problems will receive psychological counseling and support. Also, psychological counseling specialists and psychotherapists who will serve students within the framework of the psychological counseling center of the higher education institution will be trained. The implementation of the mentioned project will contribute to the mental health of students, their well-being, and the development of their potential.
