On may 20,2016, rector of the university, prof. Giorgi Sosiashvili and Minister of agriculture Mr. Otar Danelia visited Patriarchate of Georgia and met with Ilia II. As  Catholicos- Patriarch of all Georgia is interested in developing agriculture in Georgia . Giorgi Andriadze, head of the department of agriculture in Patriarchate talked about the memorandum  and included numerous projects,  which is about planting various kinds of vine , endemic to our region. 120 counts of rare vine had already been planted in the garden of GSTU. At the end of the meeting Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia gave blessing to guests and wished them strength and patience of spirit.
