Vainakh Culture Days in GSTU

On November 6,2017, within the framework of collaboration between GSTU and Office of The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Vainakh Culture days, a 3 day celebration takes place in GSTU. the event was opened by Giorgi Sosiashvili, who talked about the importance of the friendship between Kists and Georgians and their history of living and fighting together throughout centuries. Ketevan Tskhikhelashvili,Giorgi Khorbaladze and Tariel Putkaradze, also accentuated the importance of such events. Scientific part of the event was presented with public lecture from the eldest : “ Kists- Past, Present and Future, their customs and Religion, their role in Caucasus Culture” ( Khaso Khangoshvili, Zaur Gumashvili) . there, also, was a presentation of books in Vainakh Language. After the scientific part of the event was over, the concert took place where GSTU and Akhmeta Singing and Dancing Ensemble performed. At the end of the concert, Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvii and Mr. Giorgi Sosiashvili awarded participants with special gifts and certificates. Ana Imnadze and Meka Khangoshvili were presenters of the event. Various cultural programs and events are planned for a three-day- festival. Participants are teachers, students, sportsmen, folklore ensembles ,the eldest etc. from Pankisi Gorge. Event aims at strengthening the connection between Georgians and Kists, keeping their traditions and customs alive and University’s active involvement in the process.
