On June 6,2017, a students and vocational students scientific conference was held at GSTU. It was opened by Giorgi Sosiashvili. In his speech the rector talked about the significance of students involvement in university events and promised them that the university will finance an excursion for conference participants. Plenary events were carried on in sections. 61 papers were presented at the conference, divided in 11 sections.
