Scientific Conference
29 October,2018
On October 29, 2018, the Conference on the topic "The Fraudulent History and Reality of Georgian-Ossetian Relations" was held at the Holy Ilia Rural Conference Hall at St. Andrew the First Called Georgian University of Georgian Patriarchate. The Conference was opened by Professor of Georgian University Sergo Vardosanidze, who stressed that Ossetians were the most integrated non-Georgian ethnic group in Georgia, but that interruptions by external forces resulted in conflict between Georgians and Ossetians. "The conversion of Georgian cultural monuments in Ossetia was intentionally undertaken in order to replace Georgian toponym. The aim of this far-reaching plan is to change any Georgia signals in the Tskhinvali region. We must resolve this problematic issue at the government level, otherwise we will face a deplorable situation in the near future," said Professor Vardosanidze.
Professor Roland Topchishvili discussed specific examples of falsified Georgian-Ossetian relations throughout history. He said that the Kremlin is using the Ossetians to break away the Truso Valley from Georgia, as if it were a place inhabited by Ossetians. Professor Giorgi Sosiashvili, Rector of Gori State University, provided a historic-geographic review of Samachablo. Participating in the discussion were: Mamuka Areshidze, an expert in Caucacus issues; Professor Natia Jalabadze; and Professor Lavrenti Janizshvili.
Professor Vardosanidze proposed sending an elaborate appeal to Mr. Mamuka Bakhtadze, the Prime Minister of Georgia, . The text will describe the falsified history of Georgian-Ossetian relations and the necessity of establishing an appropriate scientific-research center for the solution to this problem.
