On February 25, 1921, Russian Army invaded Georgia, most of the cadets gave their lives to defend the homeland during the battle. According to decree, issued on July 21, 2010, by Parliament of Georgia the 25th of February is declared as the day, when Soviet Union occupied Georgia. In honor and memory of the day, University brought down the flag.
