On November 21, 2017, a public lecture, given by the chairman of the writers union Mr. Revaz Mishveladze took place at GSTU. The lecture was intended for the philology students. The subject of the lecture was modern Georgian literature- problems and perspectives.
The writer talked about Georgian literature in general, its place in the world literature, reviewed past years and its trace in Georgian writers' work. Mr. Mishveladze talked about Kondrate Tatarashvili, Mikheil Javakhishvili, Konstantine Gamsakhurdia, Galaktioni. Writers and poets’ harsh life during Soviet Period. The hardship and lost , reflected in their work. As an example he mentioned Javakhishvili’s famous novel “Jakos khiznebi’ as an unrelenting and painful remainder of the epoch and reevaluation of the principles after the Soviet period. At the end of the evening , writer answered students’ questions. Ioseb alimbarashvili and Elene Khojevanishvili also attended the lecture.
