On March 7, 2017, Kakha Samkharadze, governor of Shida Kartli, visited GSTU. The meeting was opened by Giorgi Sosiashvili and he gave detailed information about ongoing projects, news and plans of the university. Mr. Kakha Samkharadze gave concise information on the development of the region, attendees asked questions on perspectives of tourism and city planning.
