International Erasmus Week
22 May,2019In 13-17 May, 2019, deputy rector prof. Giorgi Sosiashvili and prof. Ruizan Mekvabidze the Head of International Relations Office of Gori University have attended International Erasmus Week Meeting organized by International Telematic University (UNINETTUNO) of Rome.The presentatives of the meeting were from various universities as are: 10 European universities, 2 Turkish universities and Gori University from Georgia.
The main goal of the week was connected with an important factor, partially, to spread distance learning in the formal learning and to give the possibilities to students to use blended learning more effectively in their educational process. This aspect drives to partnership with the UNINETTUNO, in general.
The participants were welcomed by the President of UNINETTUNO – prof. Maria Amata Garito. The coordinator of Erasmus programs prof. Dario Assante and the Head of Inernational Affairs Department Dr. Nicola Paravatti. They have analyzed information about the aims of UNINETTUNO in the frame of European programs and projects into the capacity building of higher education (CBHE).
The attendees of the meeting presented their universities with its problems, success and needs and among of them, prof. Ruizan Mekvabidze presented Gori University activities and analyzed current and future prospects according to the educational reforms provided in Georgia.
From the International Erasmus Week meeting Gori University gained:
a/ In the frame of Erasmus+ was signed agreement from the UNINETTUNO side by which staff from Gori University will be trained according to the distance learning platform;
b/ Gori University and UNINETTUNO agreed to prepare the certificate programs in tourism, MBA, Psychology, IT and other with using blended learning. The certificate programs will be prepared under responcibility of UNINETTUNO;
c/ Will be prepared MOU between all presented universities at the International Erasmus Week and UNINETTUNO;
d/ There Is planning to work out a joined project on Internationalization of Education with involving of distance learning aspect in the educational process for Erasmus+, 2020.
