International Conference - "University collaboration in Black Sea area: common educational values"

Within the Joint Operational Programme “BLACK SEA BASIN 2007-2013” - University collaboration network at the Black Sea – UNIVER-SEA.NET (http://www.univer-sea.net) funded by the European Union, on October 9-11, 2014 in Istanbul was held International Conference - "University collaboration in Black Sea area: common educational values", in which participated more than 60 universities from Romania, Moldova, Turkey and Georgia. Representatives of the partner universities participated to the manifestation, bringing a valuable contribution to the development of the interuniversity relations within the Black Sea area.
The conference aims the creation of a network within which the universities will exchange good practices, publications, courses, will create a natural framework for dialogue between students and professors of different nationality, culture and religion and will promote the specific educational values.
Collaboration Protocols were signed by the universities. Further steps of collaboration were identified, under which was planned  the course unit – “Regional Educational Development: Black Sea Area” and successful students’ participation in an exchange program for students from each partner university. After completion of the course unit students will get certificates and five best students will be offered an internship for a month period in two Turkish universities – Karabuk and Aydin universities. The course consists of four modules:
•    Module 1: Multiculturalism & Identity (Karabuk University, Turkey)
•    Module 2: Intercultural Communication (Moldova University)
•    Module 3: Conflict resolution (Andrei Saguna University, Romania & International Black Sea university, Georgia)
•    Module 4: Social Entrepreneurship (Istanbul Aydin University)
          From the main beneficiary from Georgia – International Black Sea University another twelve universities of Georgia were joined into the project. At the conference Gori State Teaching University  was presented by the Head of Teaching process Administration Department, Professor Tsiuri Duruli.
