On May 26, 2020, the faculty Humanities, and Scientific Center of History and Archaeology organized an online scientific conference dedicated to Independence Day. Guests from Tbilisi, Sokhumi, Telavi, Akhaltsikhe, Batumi, Kutaisi State Universities attended the conference with representatives of various research institutes, professors, students and other interested persons. The conference was opened by prof. Giorgi Sosiashvili, Prof. Zurab Khonelidze, Sergo Vardosanidze, Paata Surguladze, Tariel Putkaradze and others also gave speeches on the subject. Main article was presented by Prof. Otar Janelidze, GSTU. The conference was carried out in discussion format, mediated by Ioseb Alimbarashvili. Participants in the discussion were: Lia Akhladze and Zurab Papaskiri, Roin Kavrelishvili, Giorgi Gotsiridze, Malkhaz Matsaberidze and Mikheil Bakhtadze, Oliver Wrinner , student of GSTU Anna Chochia and others. Topic of the discussion was how The independence day will be interpreted by young generation, issues concerning April 9 and May 26. Their historical and civic importance for Georgian Nation etc.
