07 May,2019On May 7, 2019 a new book presentation took place at Georgian University. A book written by Prof. Giorgi Sosiashvili is about Kirion II and his travels in Shida Kartli. Rector of the University, Prof. Sergo Vardosanidze gave an opening speech and talked about scientific and literary importance of the work. Prof. Aleksandre Mghebrishvili, editor of the book also talked about the book. Vakhtang Guruli, Tariel Putkaradze, Levan Jikia, Gvantsa Burduli, Ioseb Alimbarashvili, Ioseb Chumburidze reviewed the newly published book as it is an important information about Georgian Churches and monasteries in the XIX century, about the work of priests and public figures at that time, names, events and places long forgotten by modern Georgian reader. A lot was said about the analyses of source study, painstaking work done by the author on the subject, as an example for students. At the end of the event, Prof. Giorgi Sosiashvili expressed his appreciation towards hosts, guests, students and discussed details and nuances of the working process and of the book itself.
