
Black Sea Writers Union initiated the fifth literature festival in Trabzon
15 November,2021On April 4, 2021 UTEF and Black Sea Writers Union initiated the fifth literature festival in Trabzon, 18 countries participated in the event: Italy, Iran, Japan, Azerbaijan, etc. the festival was dedicated to Georgian poet Tariel Kharkhelauri , his work and his indelible contribution to literary world. On November 12, same year, organizers of the festival invited Mr. Tariel Khalkhelauri and Mr. Giorgi Sosiashvili as honor guests. The mayor of Trabzon, Mr. Murad Zorluoghlu hosted the ceremony and gave Mr. Tariel Khalkhelauri Living Legend of Poetry award with one of the organizers Mrs. Esma Alla Turkmen. Mr. Harun Chimke, a well-known scholar of Georgian studies and a translator of numerous Georgian literary works also attended the event. The mayor gave his earnest gratitude to the Georgian side for their support, especially Mr. Giorgi Sosiashvili, in his opinion, such events carry significant importance for Turkish-Georgian relations and will always be supported by Trabzon city hall officials. He also thanked Tariel Kharkhelauri for his incredible poetry and an honor his visit had given to the festival. After the festival, the faculty of literature, Trabzon university invited a Georgian delegation , Mr. M. Alaaddin Yalchinkaia hosted the event with Georgian delegation, parties planned future activities, where Georgian and Turkish students will be able to participate, including joined scientific conferences, summer schools, literature projects etc. at the end of the event, Tariel Kharkhelauri was asked to read his poems for the audience.
