
an international scientific symposium
29 November,2020On November 28, 29, GSTU organized an international scientific symposium on conflict-free Caucasus. The symposium was held through zoom platform, Mr. Giorgi Sosiashvili welcomed participants and talked about the significance of such events, emphasizing the importance of participant countries and their relationship in every aspect. Participants were greeted by Mrs. Patma Jeren Yazgar, the ambassador of Turkey in Georgia, Mr. Giorgi Janjgava, the ambassador of Georgia in Turkey, Mr. Roin Metreveli, Mr. Ibrahim Tellioglu, a member of Historical Society and the professor of Samsun University, Prof. Jaba Samushia, Prof. Zurab Khonelidze, Prof. Sergo Vardosanidze. 4 Georgian universities: GSTU, Tbilisi State University, Sokhumi State University and Samtskhe-Djavakheti University, 6 Turkish universities: Samsun, Giresun, Kars, Black Sea, Ildiz and Istanbul universities were invited to the symposium with National scientific academy of Azerbaijan, Caucasus research institute, science institute of Poland, three universities of Ukraine ( Kiev state university, Zaporizhia state university, Taras Shevchenko state university), and representatives of Daghestani scientific center of archeology, history and ethnography.
6 sessions were held during the symposium where participants discussed the dynamics of security, role of Caucasus people, geostrategic importance and regional safety measures and challenges.
24 theses were presented which will be published by GSTU Publishing house in three languages ( Georgian, English and Turkish) as a collection of scientific work.
