
An information meeting about Erasmus + Institutional Development Project
12 May,2020An information meeting about Erasmus + Institutional Development Project “The Role of Regional Universities in Regional Development (RURD)” was held on May 12 at Gori State Teaching University.
The meeting was held online using the zoom program, which was attended by the representatives of the local municipality and NGO sector.
The meeting was opened by the Rector of Gori State Teaching University, Professor Giorgi Sosiashvili, who spoke about the importance of the project considering the specifics of the Shida Kartli region.
The project involves ten Georgian regional universities and European partners from Spain, Austria, the Czech Republic and Lithuania. The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement are also involved in the project.
RURD project, in cooperation with EU partners, aims to increase the role of Georgia's regional higher education institutions in the development of the regions, modernize their mission and strategic development plan, and strengthen cooperation between universities and local authorities, taking into account the specifics of each region.
